Tranquil T'ai Chi & Qigong

Balance     Perspective     Patience

The Evidence-Based Taiji & Qigong (EBT) program was develpoed by Dr. Yang Yang from Chen style movements and "silk reeling" qigong exercises. It is at once simple to get started and rich in content as the student "awakens" to the feelings of their body in motion. Movement routines are balanced with stillness exercises to nurture, recuperate, and rejuvenate.

Two person work (push hands) "informs" the movements and deepens the students' understanding of intention, focus, and awareness beyond themselves.

The proprietary seven step form combines balance with agility, and is the basis for deeper continuing study.

Together, the elements of qigong, forms practice, and push hands represent a complete basic traditional curriculum. Regardless of which form(s) are studied, this curriculum provides the foundation for a deeper, more meaningful Taiji journey.

Dr. Yang Yang's EBT program is the product of his lifelong traditional training and teaching experience and research conducted over the course of his doctoral work in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois. Dr. Yang has taught and/or presented this program to the Mayo Clinic, National Institutes of Health, Vanderbilt Medical, Harvard Medical School, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He currently teaches in NYC, and is a frequent presenter at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and Esalen Institute.

I am a certified Teacher-in-Training for this program, and offer it on request.
